Unraveling by Keana Labra

Stones, lapping onto lover’s shore
thrown, upward, into the cold unknown—
crows whisper forevermore, eyes blacker than feathers.

Snaking through the grains is but
a sliver of life, cutting into silvered strips,
I can weave the whole of you with eyes stitched shut.

Forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against your skin,
the land is alight and roiling from the life beneath.

I do not believe
I have never believed,
but I am finally seen
(and that is something.)
